A frit is produced by melting raw materials in the form of powder or granules by mixing them in a fairly homogeneous manner. Melting process is carried out in these furnaces at temperatures of about 1000°C-1600°C. Frit furnaces are available in wide a ranges of volumes from 0.1 liter to 500 litres and temperatures up to 1600°C continuous use. The frit is obtained by melting the raw materials according to a recipe and melting at a high temperature and rapid cooling of the molten. Raw materials that have already been pelleted are fed into the furnace automatically. The melting temperature is reached with the desired program and after waiting for a certain time at this temperature, the furnace bottom cover is opened and frit is poured. The system can then perform the same cycle again and automatically. All these operations are programmed via a touch screen. In this system which provides automatic operation, frit production can be done without stopping. The furnace crucible can be removed and cleaned for different composition studies.
