Honeywell’s limitless™ series of switches, based on 802.15.4 point to point communications can be configured to potentially enable up to sixteen devices to communicate with a single receiver module. The switches are rugged since they are based on Honeywell’s proven medium duty and harsh duty limit switches and have the same temperature ratings, mechanical life and sealing as standard switches, but they are wireless whose functionality is implemented through an 802.15.4 open protocol RF board operating in the globally license free 2.4 GHz frequency band with the capability to provide standard Ethernet, CAN or Profibus connections. The output, which is converted through the wireless signal being received by an industrial DIN rail module or a panel mount receiver, can be buzzers, LED’s or electrical signals. Eliminating the need for maintenance of the equipment’s wiring, the Limitless™ switches do this by removing any wiring to install, and therefore no wear and tear to mend, no frayed cord to be replaced is needed.
