This hard rod allows you to replace the top rod of your SM microscope. This hard rod allows the microscope to move more smoothly, allowing you to adjust the microscope with greater ease. Please note that the rod does not have any notches, so there is no additional protection against the microscope head falling off the rod. However, if you tighten the screw (see the second image) this should not be a problem.
