With the O2 down-regulation module the microbioreactor continuously measures the oxygen level in the gassing lid headspace and automatically regulates the flow of nitrogen into the gassing lid to reduce the oxygen content.
For cultivations under microaerophilic conditions, the BioLector XT microbioreactor is equipped with a special O2 down-regulation module. This module consists of an additional gas connection for nitrogen on the backside of the BioLector instrument and an oxygen sensor inside the device.
The sensor continuously measures the oxygen level of the ingoing gas mixture and automatically regulates the flow of nitrogen into the gassing lid. In this way, an oxygen level between 1% and 21% can be generated.
Independent of this additional module, all standard features of the microbioreactor remain unchanged.
