This unit generates hydrogen by electrolytically disassociating deionized water. Ionic hydrogen passing through a palladium membrane forms dry Carrier Grade Hydrogen with 100 ppb (min) impurities.

The Scott Continuum hydrogen generator complies with U.S. OSHA regulations. Safety features include a water supply level switch that automatically protects the unit from low deionized water levels. In addition, a pressure rupture disc limits pressure buildups to 125 psig (8.6 bar) and an electrolyte leak detector protects associated equipment. The total volume of stored hydrogen within the discharge pressure range is less than 3.5 cubic inches (57.3 cubic cm) eliminates the explosive hazards associated wit high pressure gas cylinders. The Model 42 Series Continuum hydrogen generator is ideally suited for applications requiring high-purity hydrogen such as carrier gas or for use with flame ionization or thermal conductivity detectors. This unit has particular application in areas, or for passage through locations, where high pressure hydrogen cylinders are restricted for safety reasons.
