The RUGGEDCOM RS401 is a utility-grade serial device server with an integrated, fully managed Ethernet switch, designed to operate reliably in harsh industrial environments. Based on the popular RUGGEDCOM RS400 server, the RUGGEDCOM RS401 includes all the same functionality, including an integrated 4-port serial server, 4-port managed Ethernet switch, and optional V.90 modem. Additionally, the RS401 features a more compact design particularly suited for panel-mount locations or installations with tight space restrictions. The device offers high immunity to electromagnetic interference and heavy electrical surges typical of environments prevailing in electric utility substations, factory floors or in curb side traffic control cabinets. The RS401 is designed to meet or exceed a wide range of industry standards including IEC61850, IEEE1613, IEC61000-6-2, IEC61800-3, and NEMA.
