Sealing Pressure Unit The sealing pressure unit is used to generate pressure, maintain pressure, cool and lubricate mechanical seals. Application: Sealing pressure units have been developed due to the problematical sealing of shaft openings in machine construction. They are ideal for generating pressure, maintaining pressure, and for cooling and lubricating end face mechanical seals. Function: The gear pump unit delivers the sealing medium under pressure into the sealing chamber to the end face mechanical seal. The pressure on the process side is equalised to prevent the end face mechanical seal from opening and, at the same time, lubricating it. The circulation of the sealing medium also causes the end face mechanical seal to be cooled at the same time. In the event of the gear pump unit failing, the sealing pressure in the seal chamber is maintained by the accumulator, enabling an ongoing process to be continued.
