Product Description Compatible with Molecular Devices StakMax Microplate Stacker Performs a wide range of UV/VIS Assay Procedures Detects pipetting errors Equipped with a PathCheck Sensor Boasts of a multi-channel design The SpectraMax 190 Absorbance Microplate Reader is the ideal equipment for many life science applications including DNA analysis. Capable of detecting DNA down to 25 ng per well, this model gives users the same sensitivity as conventional systems to produce accurate nucleic acid measurements. Molecular Devices PathCheck sensor technology found in every SpectraMax 190 improves precision when handling aqueous solutions. This innovative feature enables the model to sense the depth of liquid in each microplate as well as to normalize the absorbance value to 1-cm pathlength. The corrected absorbance is within 5% of the value obtained in a conventional spectrophotometer. Instrument linearity is also extended by a factor of three or more with PathCheck sensors. Highly concentrated samples use a minimum volume in the microplate well or 100 l which has a pathlength of approximately 0.30 cm. This sensor technology yields calculated absorbance values well beyond the capabilities of other instruments by calculating an equivalent 1-cm pathlength absorbance value. Industry leading microplate analysis software provides the SpectraMax 190 with a means for comprehensive instrument control and data reduction. Spectral scanning makes assay development easy. Operators can select the optimum wavelength for reading any assay by viewing the complete spectrum of the sample. This method enables equipment operators to monitor the stability of samples or reagents and to determine interfering compounds or conditions of assays. Spectral scanning can also be used to compare assay results to regulatory standards. Specifications Dimensions ( H x W x D) 8.6 x 22.8 x 15 (in.) 22 x 58 x 38 (cm) Weight 30 lbs.
