The Rusch catheter is composed entirely of silicone. Foley catheters are designed to be placed into the bladder with greater comfort and less pain than latex catheters, and to cause less urethral irritation. They cause less friction, making catheterization a more pleasant experience for the patient. A twin insertion tube is attached to the end of a Rusch catheter, with each tube having its own lumen. One lumen runs the length of the tube, finishing in a double eyelet tube. After the foley rusch catheter is implanted, the other lumen is used to inflate a balloon. The 5cc balloon is filled with sterile water and is used to remedy the problem.
