Vintage Microphone CMV 563 — M 7 S The CMV 563 (CMV = Condensator Microphone Amplifier) was launched in 1956 and manufactured until 1972 by Kommanditgesellschaft Georg Neumann & Co, now Microtech Gefell GmbH. Neumann M 7 capsule The M 7 capsule, developed by Georg Neumann in 1932, formed the heart of legendary tube classics such as the CMV3, CMV5, U47, M49 or CMV563 and UM57 from Gefell, where hand-made production of CMV models has continued since 1943. The CMV 563 — M 7 S is the original reissue of the legendary CMV 563. It has the typical warm, full sound of a tube microphone, which is still appreciated by numerous singers and soloists. The new CMV 563 — M 7 S uses the original M 7 S capsule with PVC diaphragm and a newly developed power supply. The tube preamplifier is built with the EF 86 pentode, since the originally installed Telefunken EC 92 tube is no longer available. The EF 86 tube is operated as a triode and is specially selected with regard to its noise behavior. The new power supply N 61 generates the tube supply voltage. It can be operated on mains voltages of 115 V or 230 V with 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The N 61 has a power switch, a 7-pin Tuchel connector for the microphone connection and a 3-pin XLR connector for the microphone output signal. The CMV 563 — M 7 S is supplied in an aluminum case that also includes the N 61 power supply, the C 563.1 connecting cable, the EA 92 elastic microphone suspension and a G/B adapter for operating the historical M 7, M 8 and M 9 microphone capsules with bayonet connection.
