Unmatched protection against electric arcs MIDSUN® HVIC silicone coating extends the life of your products and increases their reliability at a lower cost. It prevents excessive leakage currents, discharge elongation and arcing, thus minimising maintenance requirements. The excellent performance of MIDSUN® HVIC RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) silicone rubber coating is due to its unique hydrophobicity and adhesion agents with protective properties against flashover and electrical discharge. The excellent hydrophobicity of the coating prevents the formation of contaminant deposits on the surface. It replaces the traditional silicone grease which has the disadvantage of having to be changed frequently. MIDSUN® HVIC paint is resistant to UV radiation, temperature variations, corrosive environments and aluminium hydroxide pitting caused by arcing in dry strips. The coating also has excellent hydrophobicity, preventing the deposition of surface contaminants. It offers a long-term solution to breakdown problems. The MIDSUN® HVIC silicone coating allows to eliminate or reduce the frequency of the following operations — regular washing of insulators — periodic lubrication — replacement of components damaged by electrical discharges repair of the silicone coating or of the core in case of composite insulators.
