The KPA25AR.14 Precision Polished Aspheric Lens is an bi-convex aspheric lens, made with L-BAL35 optical glass, with 50.0 mm diameter and 37.5 mm effective focal length. AR.14 coating provides less than 1.5% reflection from 425 nm to 675 nm. Aspheric lenses are typically used to reduce the number of lens elements in an optical system, thus reducing the size and weight of assemblies. Aspheric profiles are more difficult to manufacture, but these lenses have increased NA (numerical apeture) and can reduce spherical and other aberrations when compared to a simple lens. These precision aspheric lenses are computer optimized for optimal performance with minimum aberrations. Exact performance parameters can be calculated by feeding the lens parameters in any standard optical design software.
