This CVFMANTEL4MH1Z antenna is intended for cars that remain in very good repeater coverage (cities mainly) where the long steel whip is inconvenient or raises suspicion.
The CVFMANTEL4MH1Z has of course less gain than the standard VHF mobile antenna CVFMANTEVHF-ST.
For vehicles that travel far from the repeaters/base, the standard long CVFMANTEVHF-ST is mandatory.
