GLASS SCALES
These Japanese made scales, are very useful for measuring or calibrating in the dissecting scope magnification range, or for other purposes when accuracy of better than 1/20mm is required for lengths of up to 1m.
These flat and well polished glass strips are marked by photo-printing over the entire length in 0.1mm units. This makes very accurate measurements over distances of up to 1m. A ruling machine places the markings absolutely precisely
Borosilicate glass is used for greater strength and minimal thermal expansion. It»s co-efficient is ~3 x 10−6 / deg. C at 20 deg. C, and that calculates the thermal expansion is only 3 Micrometre over a 1m length per degree Celsius.
The S-series scales come with 2 magnifiers set on sliders.
Supplied in a sturdy, padded case.
Enlargeable image shows section of long scale within its case. Magnifier slides on beveled edges with the scale is graduated to 0.1mm over the entire length.
