Molten salt bath electrolytic conversion of the surface of the base material to create an iron sulphide layer to improve resistance to seizure and to strengthen adherence of lubricating films. The layer has excellent self-lubricating properties. Treatment parameters : SULF BT is used at a temperature of 190 ± 5°C (374 ± 40°F). Remark : Treatment is possible on heat-treated steels with low tempering temperature, especially case hardened steels. Precautions SULF BT is not suitable for steels with a chromium content greater than 12%.
