Description

The GE Healthcare Typhoon FLA 7000 Biomolecular Imager is a rapid and versatile laser scanner designed for various biomolecular imaging applications. It excels in performing sensitive and quantitative measurements of radioisotopic labels using storage phosphor, chemi fluorescent Western blots, single fluorescence, as well as digitization of colorimetric stains.

The Typhoon FLA 7000 provides the following benefits:

  • Versatility: This system is capable of imaging radioisotopic, visible fluorescent, chemifluorescent, and colorimetric samples.
  • High resolution and quantitation: It generates 16-bit images at resolutions of up to 25 µm per pixel. The linear signal response covers a wide dynamic range, enabling precise quantitation in gels, blots, and tissue sections across five orders of magnitude.
  • High speed: It can scan a gel measuring 24 x 25 cm in less than two minutes at 100 µm resolution, ensuring fast results without compromising sensitivity.
  • High sample throughput: With a scanning area of 24 x 40 cm, the Typhoon FLA 7000 allows for simultaneous imaging of up to 12 gels or blots, each measuring 10 x 8 cm. This facilitates easy comparisons between blots, reduces workload, and minimizes waiting time.

The Typhoon FLA 7000 is a non confocal laser scanner with variable mode capabilities, offering exceptional speed and resolution for accurate quantitation of proteins, nucleic acids, and other biomolecules. The system comes preinstalled with four lasers: blue (473 nm), green (532 nm), red (635 nm), and red (650 nm). It can rapidly image a sample measuring 24 x 40 cm in just 2.5 minutes, making it highly efficient for multi-user laboratory environments.
