This module M15 is part of the complete Water and Sanitation ERU which is composed of 3 modules (M15, M40, MSM20).
This module consists of 3 parts: Treatment / Distribution and Trucking / Basic sanitation and hygiene promotion.
This module provides treatment and distribution of up to 225,000 litres of water a day for a population of up to 15,000 people, with a storage capacity of a maximum of 200,000 litres a day. This unit can also provide limited sanitation and hygiene promotion for a population of up to 5,000 people. The module is designed for response to three to five densely populated locations, with a flexible approach due to a number of smaller treatment units (minimum three), which can be split and set up as stand-alone units in different locations.
The following equipment list is one example of a M15. Individual NS may utilize their own equipment lists which differ from this list and that of other NS. However, different M15 must be capable of delivering the same function and be able to connect to each other.
Module M15 has integrated distribution and trucking capacity, for transport of treated water to multiple locations with a capacity of up to 75,000 litres a day, with the capacity to set up nine different storage and distribution points (preconditions are availability of flatbed trucks, fuel, road access).
All transport regulated products are packed for the highest constraint, which is air transport on passenger/cargo mix aircraft. They have their IATA certificates inside the set of document of each ERU module.
