The HBD heater is particularly designed for melting or reducing the viscosity of soaps, fats, waxes, varnishes and oil based products. The diameter of the base fits all sizes of drums up to 45 gallons (200 Lt). Heat is provided by a 900W silicone rubber insulated heater mat, producing an even distribution of heat to the base. Side drum heaters can be used with HBD If a rapid heat up is necessary or solids are involved requiring higher power input, as an alternative a thermally insulated jacket can be used. Made of 2mm thick mild steel for extra rigidity on uneven surfaces, tapered edges for safe ease and protected by a resilient high temperature coating. The temperature is regulated via a rear opening in the control unit, neon lights indicate power on and load switching viewed through a window in the control unit top. Heat is supplied via a silicone insulated etched foil heater giving a uniform temperature across the platen face. Heat transference to the base is minimal thanks to 50mm high density rock wool insulation.
