Acrytol is a fast-drying mounting medium that allows slides to be evaluated promptly. It has a low viscosity, which allows the medium to move smoothly. It also helps prevent air bubbles from getting trapped.
Acrytol contains an antioxidant that prevents stain fading and prevents the formation of annual rings. A thin coating of Acrytol is all that is required to secure the cover glass to the microscope slide.
