The Agilent 8505A RF Network Analyzer measured data is displayed on a CRT as well as digitally. The combination of the sweep oscillator and tuned detection system give it a dynamic range of over 100 dB. The Keysight Agilent HP 8505A measures amplitude and phase simultaneously with a resolution of 0.01 dB and 0.01° respectively. Group delays can be measured over a range of 0 to 80 µs with a resolution of 1 ns. Phase measurements can be displayed in a linear or polar (Smith Chart) mode. The signal source sweeps the frequency range of 500 kHz to 1.3 GHz and can be set very accurately using the internal frequency counter. Sweep times can be varied from 10 ms to greater than 1 s. Output amplitude can be adjusted over the range of +10 dBm to -72 dBm.
